find your poem

Hey friends,
I am editing this post because it is offending blogger friends. I am not making any change in the post because I am not feeling bad. THIS IS ONLY A GAME. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH CREATIVITY. IT IS A GAME ABOUT HOW RANDOM WORDS PUT TOGETHER MAKE SENSE NOT BECAUSE THEY WERE PUT INTENTIONALLY BUT BECAUSE THE MIND IS SO ACCUSTOMED TO CONCRETENESS, THE KNOWN, LOGIC, REASON AND MEANINGS THAT IT FINDS MEANINGS EVERYWHERE. THE MIND WILL REMAIN RESTLESS UNTIL IT HAS PUT ALL THE PIECES OF THE PUZZLE TOGETHER IN LIFE OR IN GAME. IT IS ONLY THE HEART THAT RESPONDS TO THE ILLOGICAL, IRRATIONAL, THE UNKNOWN OR ANY QUEST .....DEAR BLOGGERS I DO NOT MEAN TO HURT YOU....IT IS ONLY A GAME JUST LIKE THOSE FUN-STORY GAMES WHERE THE FIRST PERSON STARTS WITH A SENTENCE AND THE THREAD IS CARRIED FURTHER BY OTHER PLAYERS...
WARNING: IF YOU HAVE ANY IMAGES OF ME AS A SERIOUS HUMAN-BEING OR YOU ARE A VERY SERIOUS HUMAN-BEING YOURSELF , DO NOT READ FURTHER....

MIGHTY MOTORSPORTS
The great thing about getting
anything you go after
Only actions give
the other half.....

LAMENESS

All the presidents
in the world of time
Self-importance is
second hand of a clock
Work saves us
World belong to the energetic
Everywhere I go
I win or lose
Sometimes a scream
...one will suffice

Hi friends,
These two poems came out of a game.
There are those who write poems and there are those who applaud. All of us at some point of our lives aspire to write something lyrical.....mysterious....magical...mystical
Now here is your chance to become a poet without the divine vision, without the intuition or that peculiar frenzy of mind that leads the pen.
And to you poetry lovers and readers, dont take offence...its just a game ---- a poetry-fun-game. It was created and started by get zapped. With her consent I am giving it here just to set the game rolling.....

Here are the simple rules of the game...
Go to "wikipedia." Hit “random”or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:RandomThe first random wikipedia article you get is the title of your poem.
Go to "Random quotations"or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
1) Select the first three or five words of the very first quote of the page for the first line of your poem.
2) Then the last three or five words of the next quote of the page is the second line of your poem.
3) Select the first three or five words of the third quote of the page for the third line, and then alternate as above until you’ve made it to the last quote…
Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”or click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7daysFifth picture, no matter what it is, will be your poem image. This part is optional.
So go ahead and pen down a few lines. You can take this game to your blog and please let me know when you create something...i shall only be too happy to see what you've been upto.

isn't it amazing that the results actually make sense... or, perhaps, our minds are so wired that they look for one, and find it.

i have enjoyed your try :)

Hey you did it! These are wonderful. I really like the the first one, the title, pic and simple, yet curious message make for a creative package. Awesome. Thanks for passing the idea along. They're so much fun!

No, Jyotsana,
I don't agree. Poetry is a serious realm of the soul. It has to come from the heart- it is not a 'fun-game.'
Finally, after several revisions, like a painting, it emerges as a real poem like an artist's creation with a genre of its own.
Don't insult creativity, ever!

Now you are being cynical. Not like you! No wonder you are neither responding to my pix, nor my poems. What's happening to you? Are you O.K?

Do write, but in a more positive frame of mind!

Heyyy that's so..coincidental. I was going to write the very same story bout Hanumanji in the comin' days.
My gawd.. u must hv been reading my mind, ms mind reader.

And if u were gripped by the story...if u liked my narration style...It was worth writing it then.
Thanx so much.

And ur template rocks. Keep it. I love it.

The editing has been done cleverly.
Though I can't play games with poetry, only with friends. I, finally found your blog, & like most of the stuff!
At the risk of repeating myself, I find more substance when you are being serious in your expression, than when you're being funny!

nice idea, jyotsna.. quite like the others i agree that poetry is a serious business, but not on the fact that it can't arise from a concept such as this. i think both are valid. rather, it's tougher to create 'serious poetry' in this way than sitting and knitting words that are known a-priori. i'll try. but trust me, this is too tough a game.

cheers. :)

Btw, I tagged you for on my blog for a writers meme. Play if you feel like it!

i just offered the missing links and that the motive of the game is not to insult poetry which is close to my heart too but to share some moments of fun n curiosity n happiness.

sayani

Wow, I didn't realize I would start such a fuss around poetry. If you give it a try, it may not be a humorous poem you end up with. In fact, you may actually learn something - so let go and play, have fun and grow with the experience.

hmmm... i never realised poetry is supposed to be such serious business. i prefer things with a grain of salt and a pinch of humour, and that'swhat this game means for me.

oh, and btw... i started blogging under my real name (this one) but then a need emerged for another place where i could show my other side... sillier in a way... and i wanted to try my hand at a different kind of writing than haiku, so juliana was born
This is so interesting, and I agree with Juliana, we will look for meanings whenever there are words, in whatever sequence.

(at least I with my teacher's eye have been taught to look for glimmers of meaning in a sea of words - like needle in a haystack - and award marks to students. But your random creations do make sense) It's fun...

To me only great souls with in born talents are poets and most of them do not like to follow any rule. But your idea is great.

Firtstly you should never have to change anything that you have written on your blog, in my opinion you have not said or done anything to offend, and if some people dont like certain things that you have written then that is just tough!!!

Poetry does NOT have to be serious!
Poetry is the freedom to write about ANYTHING that your heart and mind desires.

take care ;)
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves

All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

The Old Gumbie Cat
I have a Gumbie Cat in mind, her name is Jennyanydots;
Her coat is of the tabby kind, with tiger stripes and leopard spots.
All day she sits upon the stair or on the steps or on the mat:
She sits and sits and sits and sits - and that's what makes a Gumbie Cat!

jodha akbar - a true love story

Thirteen years back I had seen Allahabad Fort built by Emperor Akbar in 1583 A.D which stands erect even today except in those places probably the zenana which are very near to Yamuna where it has sunken in. This is the area which Akbar had designed especially for his wife Jodha. The windows of the side where this rajput princess often stayed face Yamuna, a river worshipped especially by people who worship Krishna. The architecture was in such a way that that the river used to flow inside the fort touching the walls of her palace so that she did not have to go out but could bathe right in the river staying in her palace named as Jodhabai Palace. When I saw it for the first time I was very young then… my mind full of romances waiting to be lived…it had brought a smile to my face… I thought that’s the way it is between every man and woman on this earth. Life teaches otherwise. To fall in love is easy…to be in love for a lifetime is more often a dream. It was a thinking out of box when A

amrita - imroz a gospel of love

This is me and that is you and in the chasm is the dream wrote a woman once of her relationship with the man she loved and lived with. Some love stories reverberate like hymns in this universe. Love is a spiritual force in itself since it is a part of the inner world. In terms of events it happens between two people in a particular time and space but its fragrance spreads across time and space both. Amrita-imroz A love Story is a contemporary love legend which Penguin India brought to the world. It is best described not as a story of a woman or a man but a biography of a love story penned by Uma Trilok who was fortunate enough to spend some precious moments with the lovers just before Amrita left her body on October 31, 2005 at the age of 86. Being a Reiki and Pranik healer, the writer formed close ties with Amrita and Imroz and what came out is a book which is so soothing that it takes you to yourself. Love is a word which carries a halo around itself when used as a word. Ironically

age is beautiful

Youth is beautiful. And so is age. Dear Woman. I see women distraught over a few wrinkles, painfully hiding a few streaks of grey hair. Dyeing hair into a desirable color, making the belly taut, lifting the breasts and the face are smart ways of looking younger...it isn't wrong at all...but desperately clinging to what's passing can create much misery and carried on too far should raise a few questions : what is the motive - fooling others? And the next- am I fooling myself? I sometimes wonder who has given these foolish guidelines to beauty . Some maniac who who got up in the morning and dreamed that there shall be no noon and no sun-set?And found no beauty in the mellowness and the ripening. The crazy mind. Is the grey hair not beautiful? And what's wrong with a few wrinkles? Aging beautifully and gracefully is all about acceptance and not fighting against the wisdom of Nature. Physical degeneration is a natural proce ss which comes over the years and brings along with
